Bio

I am an Indigenous Canadian and British writer currently living in Toronto.

I have a doctorate in English and completed a Masters in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto. I currently work at the University of Toronto as part of the division of People Strategy, Equity, and Culture.

I grew up in a small town outside of Ottawa and attended Carleton University for my Undergraduate and Masters degrees. A scholarship allowed me to travel to the UK to pursue a PhD at the University of Manchester, which I completed in early 2018.

My family roots are in Saskatchewan and England. My Métis roots are from Qu’Appelle, Saskatchewan, and before that Red River, Manitoba. Prior to my role at U of T, I worked for three years as a Research & Policy Analyst at the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO).

Outside of writing I co-host a popular Sea Shanty singalong night in Toronto.
